What Is A Plus-Size Model?

Plus-size models generally range in size from a missy 8 all the way up to a size 32W and participate in a variety of modeling jobs including print work, runway shows, and fit or informal modeling.

Fashion modeling is the category aspiring models usually think of when they dream of being a model. Fashion plus modeling can include a magazine cover or layout, representing a plus-size manufacturer in print advertisements, or strutting down the catwalk in the latest Lane Bryant lingerie.

Requirements CAN Include(but not always or limited to):

Between 5'8" and 6'0"
5'9" is pretty much minimum for larger markets though Wilhelmina in NYC does represent a few girls who are 5'7" and 5'8".

Size 10, 12, 14, 16
Sizes 8 and 18/20 are also used, but are not as common.

Toned
You may be a "plus size," but you may have to be in shape if you model swimwear, lingerie or fitness gear.

Proportionate
You should be in proportion. Your bust, waist and hips should be about ten inches apart in size (i.e. 42-32-42) or very close. In addition, the shorter you are, the smaller your size should be. Someone who is 5'8" would be expected to wear a smaller size (12/14) than a taller model. It is all about length and proportion.

When looking for an agency to represent you, ask if they represent plus-size or commercial models. If they do, ask what their height and size requirements are. If you fit their requirements, ask to schedule an interview or find out if they have open calls. If you live a distance away from the agency, do a mail-in with your pictures and information.

New Addition to my family...

You wouldn't believe in a MILLION years what happened today!
I have a new addition to my little family. It was my first experience with something like this...and I just HAD to have more... so oops!!!

I was hanging out with the girl that I've been seeing for a while now, doing some shopping when she had this nagging feeling to go into this place with all these little ones just laying around. Some were sleeping... some were playing and keeping themselves occupied. Some were crying or playing with others around them... but all in all... it was a really good thing to see.
So... we happen to walk in just as one of the people there was coming downstairs, holding the cute little one in his arms. Just wrapped up, keeping warm, snuggling and cuddling. So I decided to ask a few questions...

How old?

How big?

What race / nationality? (hahaha)

How many does he personally have?

We were there with this guy for at least 20mins before he had to go. Then we continued the conversation with another guy there. Then Dolce and I got brave and wanted to hold it. We were both pretty uneasy about it at first... but after a few minutes of just getting used to it, we were ok. We were like "oh shit!!"..........

The next thing I knew... I was saying "OK... let's think about it, we have to go right now..." But then we had to go to the supermarket for stuff for dinner. While we were driving around... I said... "I'm gonna be really upset if we don't... and said... "fuck it... what's the number... I'll call them and see how long it would take...."

The place was closing at 8pm so we had to kinda rush back....

Ok... so I didn't want to feel rushed into this... but I was so psyched up about it. Having a little one of my own!! And it would definitely be cute and a money maker for me (because it was so cute!!!) But... it was getting late... and I had to make up my mind... so I asked a couple more questions and then said "what the hell!!?!?!? let's do it!!"

So after about a total of an hour and a half in the pet store... I am NOW the proud owner / parent of a 5ft long RedTail Boa Constrictor!!!
