Always learning...

Yesterday, while I was going through my day, I decided to flip through one of the many magazines that lay around. It was an issue of Men's Health magazine. Just killing time, I skimmed the articles and pictures, and always taking note of different lighting techniques in pictures that strike me as "that's a nice shot", until I happened upon a caption on one of the pictures that read

"Always improve. Always evolve. Never give up".

When I read it, I felt it was a very profound way to handle your daily struggle against adversity. I started to read the article but then I was distracted by an old friend of mine that needed my help.

Today, I needed to get a fast lens for the shoots that I have scheduled for this weekend. I picked it up, went home and tried it out on my 20D body. I was amazed at how sharp and bright every natural low light image that I took, came out. Then it all dawned on me. All the theory and book knowledge I have on my craft finally made sense! Prior to this epiphany, I was routinely fighting bouts of frustration and dismay that I may be doing something wrong or I misinterpretted my readings. But today I LEARNED that I had indeed learned. You learn something new everyday. You may not realize it right then and there but the 'teachings of the day' will certainly come back to light somewhere in the future.

Take the quote and apply it to your daily life and include your 'daily lesson'. You will find yourself to be more of a well rounded person. You will also grow and mature. Strive to improve yourself and your surroundings. Evolve and adapt yourself to overcome whatever struggle you may face. Never give up on your success!
